Windows XP and DOS?

B

Bill

I'm interested in getting some of my old DOS programs running under XP
Home. To this end it would be helpful if I knew how to:

- Load the ANSI.SYS file, isn't there a command that will allow me to
load a .SYS file with a BAT file?
- Make a bootable floppy.
- Boot to DOS rather than to WinXP.

My list used to be a LOT longer, but I've managed to figure out
everything on my own. Some of the above may not be possible, but I
have to ask. Actually, all I may need is a URL that gives me
information on "Running DOS with XP". Any help would be appreciated!

Sorry, no free email support. Here's your url:

www.google.com

Putting in the search term "running DOS with XP" brings me about 372,000
links. I'm sure some of them will be useful to you, especially since
the first one is about running games and a lot of those old DOS games
are really fun.

Cheers,

Malke

The files c:\windows\system32\config.nt and
c:\windows\system32\autoexec.net are used by default when the new
command prompt box (what you might DOS but it isn't). Put your settings
there.
