List not updating

A user is adding contacts with email address to her personal contact list but
when she tries to "select" that new user in her contacts list, it isn't
listed. Any suggestions about "indexing" or something along that line?

is she adding it to the correct contacts folder? right click on the folder,
choose properties and verify it's enabled as an address book
