Linksys WRT54G

Hi Folks

I am using Windows XP.

I ran a registry cleaner a few weeks ago and now my desktop computer is not
on the network. It is connected to the WRT54G Router via Ethernet connction.
The other 3 wireless computers are working fine. My internet connection
through the router is fine. The IP addressess appear ok and I am able to Ping
the router form the computer.

I ran the newtork set-up Wizard in Windows and it functioned normally. I do
show an ethernet network connection in the Netwrok Connections. It Is just
that none of the other 3 wireless computers show up on this computer nor does
this computer show up in any of the other 3.

Did I delete some files that might be the cause of my problem when I ran
that registry cleaner ?

Or any other ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Dennis

Yes I can. I even can see the ethernet attached computer on one of the
wirless computer's " View workgroup computers" window. I have disabled all
firewalls (that I know of). I have run the set-up wizard to enable File and
Printer sharing.

Thanks

It could be the name resolution or computer browser issue. Do you receive
any system error if you do net view \\remotepcname? These search results may
help too.

Yes - from what I can tell from the symptoms, this is a browser issue. I am
working through the soulutions you have provided. I do not see the Admin
tools under Program files. Could these have been deleted ?

Thanks

Are you using anti-virus like Norton or McAfee? These have a module
which behaves exactly like a firewall. In Norton, this module is
known as "Internet Worm Protection." You can configure the "NetBIOS"
access rules or "disable" it for your test.

Not sure the module name in McAfee.
