I have a Windows 2003 web server, with DNS and a linksys router that Im
having alot of trouble with. I can get on the internet but no incoming
traffic cannot get to my domain. What do I need to do inorder for traffic to
enter my web server?

On the router you need to map TCP port 80 to your server's IP. All routers
support this function, but how you do it is product dependent - consult your
manual. Not sure what the reference to DNS means. But after the port is
mapped, Internet users can connect to your server by
http://<YourPublicIPaddress>. Or, your web site name if public DNS servers
resolve this to your public IP.

Hello Mr. Sherman,

Thank you kindly for answering my post. I should have mentioned in my
previous post that I had mapped port 80 for http but still no luck. My ISP
provider is Bell South and my domain name is from gobuddy.com. Please
continue to help!

Well, the first thing to do is determine whether this is a routining/mapping
issue or name resolution:

1. Determine your current public IP.

2. Connect a computer to the Internet in some fashion other than through
the router.

3. Open IE and try: http://<YourPublicIPaddress>

If this works, then routing/mapping is OK.
