DNS server address and router

I've got 2 computers connected by a D-Link router (model #DI-704P) in a home
office situation. (Yes, I know that this router is an older model, but it's
working perfectly, so we don't feel the need to upgrade at present.)

We received word from our ISP that we needed to enter a specific DNS server
address -- as opposed to allowing the OS to obtain the DNS address
automatically -- if we wanted to continue to utilize their cable Internet
services. (Don't ask me why this change has occurred with our ISP, but they
kind of have a monopoly as far as the geographical market right now in our
area, so we can't go elsewhere.)

I know how to enter in this information into Vista and XP, respectively, but
with respect to the router itself, I'm unsure how to make sure that the
router has this specific DNS server address. And I don't have the manual
anymore and it's not downloadable off of D-Link's website (at least not that
I can find).

Can anyone give me some quick instructions on how we can make sure that this
router is operating properly in association with this new specific DNS server
address?

Many thanks!

This web page shows how to do it on a DI-604. I think the setup is
the same on the DI-704P:

BTW, if you enter the DNS server address on each computer, you don't
have to enter it on the router.

Thanks very much for this information! I didn't know that if the DNS server
address information was on both computers that we didn't need to worry about
putting it into the router itself. I have been testing out this situation all
day today and everything seems to be working perfectly.

Many thanks!
