I installed IEAK6 in December (don't know why or what it is) which I THINK is
the cause for my problem.
When I click on a link (I think HTML links) on a webpage a blank window with
the red X appears in a separate window. Right clicking the X and selecting
"Open" does nothing. If I right click the link (on the webpage) and select
Save Target, then save it and open it, it usually opens. This is an
inconvenience but I can live with it. HoweverI have a very important link I
must open and use which requires a password so I cannot use this method of
saving the target then opening it.
I use IE6 SP1...XP Pro...Windows One Care AV..and all my security settings
are set to default. I changed the registry settings to value 0 as suggested
for "images with red Xs and that didn't help. All updates are installed.
I am not able to uninstall IEAK6 to see if that's what's causing the
problem. I would be so appreciative for help on fixing this ASAP.
Thank you,
