links to browser wont work outlook 2007

when i click on a link in an email on outlook 2007 i get the following
message "general failure the URL was: (full link address here) application
not found this started happening after i uninstalled safari

Verify that you have set your new favorite browser as the default in
Windows. Reset it if necessary.
