Hyperlink in Outlook 2007 won't work

I am running Vista Ultimate and Office 2007. When I attempt to click a
hyperlink in an email, I get the the following message in general: "General
failure" whatever the link was followed by: "Application not found"

This has happened with every link that comes through, so I am wondering if
this has occurred with others and, if so, how'd you fix it?

Thanks for any help.

I also have this problem with links, in addition to my pictures not
downloading in Outlook. Both of these problems started happening at
the same time. I'm running the Office Pro 2007 and Vista Home Premium.
I've changed the Default settings, reset IE, run the repair disks on
Office, and any other suggestions made on the MS Outlook Support
forum. The error indicates "Application Not Found". Doesn't that mean
that something has changed in the IE settings that allows one to
connect to the internet by links in email? None of the suggested
simple fix changes have worked in my situation. My preference is to
use Outlook and IE, but I'm about to switch to a web based email
because something seemingly so simple is making me crazy and I can't
keep wasting time trying to make this work. I'm starting to wonder
with the number of problems with this issue, if it doesn't have
something to do with SP1. Can anyone help me resolve this short of
starting over?

I appreciate your help.
