If you are using Internet Explorer, make sure it is the default browser
(even if it is the only one you use):
To make IE your default browser:
Click the “tools†menu at the top of Internet Explorer.
Then click “Internet Options†in the list.
Click on the “Programs†tab.
Look in the “Default web browser†section of the window.

If you use Firefox maybe this applies:

I have this same problem and am trying to follow the same procedure.
However, I checked the tools/Internet Options/Programs in my IE 7 and it shows
that IE7 is the default browser. Any other ideas?

BTW, a couple weeks ago an IT manager talked me into installing some other
browser
which I uninstalled after leaving that site.

Any help you provide will be appreciated.

I now have picked up this problem. I have followed the steps in the numerous
posts about this issue going backwards in time. The only one I haven't tried
is export the reg entry
HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Classes\htmlfile\shell\open\command from another
machine. It is really irritating to not be able to click on links in email.

This also happens to me. Set IE to default won't work. The only thing that
works for me is to set Firefox as the default browser. But I want to change
back to IE?? Anyone knows how?
Thanks

Keane
