Linking to new site closes old site

In IE 6.0 whenever I link to a new web site from a current
site, the new site opens but the browser closes my
previous site on the screen. The previous site is listed
in history but disappears from the screen. Any ideas on
how to fix this? Thanks. RB
 
In IE - Tools | Internet Options | Advanced
Uncheck the box which says "Re-use windows for launching shortcuts".
