Linked Table Manager Issue

I am trying to change the links from my linked table manager (Tools >
Database Utilities > Linked Table Manager) to a different Access data file.
I can easily see that the tables it is linking to are incorrect. They are
linking to a J:\-drive when I need them linking to the K:\-drive. So, I
click the "Always prompt for new location" box, select all the links, hit ok,
specify where i want it to link to, and it seems to work. Then when I go to
make the MDE file, all the links change back to the original J:\ drive.

Can anyone help me?

if you're using Access 2000 or later, suggest you turn off the Name
AutoCorrect option (if it's not already turned off). even if turns out not
to be the source of the problem in this case, it's good advice in general
terms. for more information, and illustrated instructions, see
http://home.att.net/~california.db/tips.html#aTip3

btw, rather than linking to a mapped drive (J, K, etc), recommend you "drill
down" to the folder holding the database file by navigating through Network
Neighborhood on your server. you can have problems with mapped drives when
all users' drives are not mapped the same. i've also encountered the problem
of specific users' PCs "losing" the their mapping info, so the drive had to
be re-mapped on their PCs periodically.

Thanks for the tips. I have unchecked the Auto Correct options, and linked
the tables by drilling down, rather than mapping the drives.

These didn't fix the problem, themselves, but I did get the problem corrected.
I finally got the change in location to "stick" by deleting all the linked
tables, closing Access 2000, reopening it, and relinking all of the tables.
(Boy, do I hate troubleshooting someone else's design.)

Thanks again!
