Link Bar Properties

Problem: When I create a "Parent" folder in the Index.htm folder such as "North America" in addition to the other five continents, and have them located horizontally as buttons just under the "HOME" Banner, there is no problem. The Link Bar Properties format is successful. When I create a"Parent" folder in the left border panel such as the name of the ten provinces of Canada as buttons and have them located "Vertically"; I have no problem. When I choose the province of "Ontario" as a Parent folder and attach the names of five cities at the "child" "Parent " & "Home" level, to the Province of Ontario the, "UP" button is not present for the purpose of toggling back to "Ontario" . Instead I must go back "HOME" and make a series of selection from "Home" Page to arrive at my destination of "Ontario". I would appreciate a solution to the missing "UP" button for appropriate togging purposes. In the "Navigation" view, the first named city of Vancouver is posted just under "Ontario" and the other five named cities are posted under "Ontario" & at the same tier level as Vancouver.

Thank you

In your navigation view drag you cities under your provinces, and provinces under countries
- if not already done so
You need 2-3 nav bars on each page (or in your shared border page if using one)
- 1 with just child pages under home for the top level
- and one with child pages for the second level, etc
(you can also include the back/next)

Sorry but I am not able to have FP 2003 implement your instructions which is
listed below.

I wish to spare you a repetition of my present level of creation in FP2003.
Briefly; I have only a one time opportunity to select the Shared Borders
feature to create the picture buttons for the Banner and its horizontal
"Child"'s. below the Banner and the Parent picture buttons in the left
border panel. This exercise is compatible with my Navigation system.

What is difficult to me ; is the method by which your following
instructions is accomplished in FP 2003 and I am not a neophyte. Namely:
You need 2-3 nav bars on each page (or in your shared border page if using
one)
- 1 with just child pages under home for the top level
- and one with child pages for the second level, etc
(you can also include the back/next)

Please be more explicit in your methodology; as "How To" Thank
you.

You can edit your any of the shared borders page after you create them to add additional navigation
(using Insert Navigation Bar)
Shared border pages are in the _hidden folder named: _borders

Thank you : Original Problem solved:

Here is an added Secondary question:
I prefer Graphic picture buttons with the same colours as my applied
selected theme [ Exped’n].

When I select a [Child] folder from a "Parent" folder , from the left
vertical border panel, the result is displayed as text, rather than Graphic
picture buttons. Please, can Graphic picture buttons be had in this
scenario? I had no such problem with formatting "Parent" coloured Graphic
buttons in the horizontal sub-banner space. Thank you.

Hi Mr. Rusynko:
I followed your instructions and enabled "Vivid colours" & Active Graphics"
& Backgroun Picture" -siingally first , then collectivly. and exited the
theme page without seeing any method of "Apply" or "OK". The result was a
failure. I also noticed that the name of any "parent' folder also displays
in the "work space" again as text. I would prefer that the name of the
folder does not display in the work space. Please continue your patience.
Thank you ..

Hi Mr. Rusynko:

Thank you for your efforts on my behalf. My problems have been resolved
including the lack of display of the "Graphic" buttons in my "Linkbar
Properties" menu . This requires the application of "Graphic" styles
instead of "HTML" styles. Something I had forgotten about. Again , thank
you.
