link a bookmark to another page

I want to link from a work on the splash page to a word on another page. I
have bookmarked that word but simply cannot figure out how to make the
link...this is the 2nd day I am going crazy trying to find and answer to what
should be a very simple thing. all I ever see is descriptions from help
files but never ever get an "this is how you do it". Help would be
appreciated!

Select the link. Edit the properties. Select the file to which you want to
link. Click on the Bookmark button. You will see a list of the available
bookmarks on that page. Select the one you want. Click OK.
