lines

I have awful grey lines going through everything on my pc... from the
desktop to the internet sites... it is NOT the monitor, as I've tried it
elsewhere... it's the computer and I can't figure out how to get rid of the
lines... anyone have ideas?

I'm afraid it may be time for a new video card. But before you go out to the store, try replacing the video cable (that connects your monitor to your computer.)

I took this monitor and plugged it into the kids computer and the screen
looked great, no lines! so whatever it is, it isn't in the cable/monitor.

It's possible that the video card has become lose in the socket. They seem
to do that ocasionally.

where would I find the video card to check if it is lose?

It would be inside your computer.

If you have never worked inside a computer you should ask a friend to check
the card for you. You could do major damage to the video card or the
motherboard.
