Lifecam update forces repeated XP crashes

Bought a lifecam VX-3000 for my XP Home SP2 system on Feb 23. Installed the
software from the CD in the box and then when I went to start up the cam, it
wanted to get the latest update off the ms web site. So it downloaded the
lcweb.exe and then downloaded some sort of winzip file and for some reason it
just ended. Ever since that point in time, my system periodically shuts down
black with no error, does an automatic cold reboot, and then when windows
returns, it says I had a severe error and that I should revert my system to
the most recent restore point. Has anyone had any experience with this type
of lifecam crash, and how was it resolved? Thanks, Ron E.

Hi, I have a similar problem, I have a Lifecam NX-6000 which I tried to
install, but whenever I plug the camera in in immediately crashes the
computer. Did you ever find out what the problem is?

Cheers,

Sam
