Which wizard? Download the Microsoft LifeCam "drivers" from the
Microsoft's hardware download web site. Disconnect the cam from the
USB port and then click on the download file to "run" the driver
install process. The drivers will install themselves and at one point
in the install, they will request the cam to be connected to an USB
port directly on the PC. Connect it and the install should complete.

There is no wizard used when you "install" the LifeCam driver. After
running the "downloaded" file, the drivers are installed. You should
have the Cam not connected to any USB port and only reconnect it when
the driver install process request it.

ok i dont plug the cam in until it tells me too and the windows install
wizards starts and try's looking for the drivers and cant find them after i
install the program and drivers and still says its a usb20
camera........which is funny cause the drivers seems to be for a usb2.0 camera

Which motherboard do you have? I have used these "drivers" to install
my VX-1000 and they work. However, I did have to install my
motherboard chipset drivers before so as to have the correct USB 2
settings.

i have a msi 865pe ne0-2 motherboard and all the drivers for it are up todate

Including the "chipset" drivers for this motherboard? Most "general"
users whom do their own XP installs tend to completely skip installing
the chipset drivers since XP tends to work without them. However,
chipset drivers have additional controls the the "standard" drivers
that ship with XP do not have. The general reason why XP does not
have these drivers as "standard" drivers is that motherboards can be
updated / released for sale after XP was "sent" to manufacturing.
