I have to run some web pages on a laptop with xp professional with IIS.

These web pages interact with access mdb database but I HAVE NO ACCESS
INSTALLED.

I'll use this laptop in public.

Do I have to buy a licence for Access or not?

Any help or/and links from Microsoft will be muc appreciated.

Regards.

Fabri,

No you don't need a licence for Access at all. You may put an Access DB
file on any computer on any disk. What does require licensing is Microsoft
Access (Application) itself and any runtime time components that may be
distributed compiled using a developers edition of office. Many VB, C#,...
developers use an Access DB (usually referred to as a Jet 4.0 Database in
such cases) for data storage and queries for their applications. Unless the
Access object libraries are called, a licence is not required. But, if the
table and query structure was developed by an individual or corporation that
requests purchasing and hence maybe licensing, you may need one from that
particular third party, even that maybe a gray area darker that low thunder
clouds.

The burden of guilt and uncertainty is off your shoulders...
