LEXMARK X83 dead????

called tech support because the printer was not recognizing the color
cartidge and the copies both black/white and color have not even been
visible on the paper.


Tried all the cleaning tips with no luck. Just installed new color
cart,.......black shows 75% ink level but may or may not be dried up.

Is it possible the black ink is causing the problem.?

Tech support said the printer is dead.

I have a x73 that did the same thing. Possibly a bit of ink got onto the
contacts and fried the contacts on the printer. I've only had the
printer 18 months. I'm not very happy.
