I'm currently using Windows XP home edition on a Sony
desktop PC. Hard drive has crashed recently, been
fixed....tried to install Lexmark CD's and when it comes
time to plug in the USB cable an error window pops up
indicating that the USB connection has malfunctioned. I
have tried another USB cable and the same problem
persists. Is anyone familiar with this and how to resolve
it?

I would try it on a diff usb port on your pc....if that
fails make sure all looks good in device manager.....if
so you may have a bad port on the printer.....if that is
the case you will want 2 contact lexmark tech support

If you wanted 2 be 100% sure just try 2 connect it 2 a
diff pc...if you get that error on that pc its the port
on the printer all the way
