I have had my present HP XP system computer and Lexmark
printer for 8 months and it's worked fine up until a few
weeks ago. I have a Lexmark Z23 printer that will now only
print in black and not anycolor. I bought a new color
cartridge thinking it may have run out, but it still won't
print any colors at all.

I borrowed a Z23 printer from a friend and installed it on
my system, and that one won't print in color either, even
though it prints in color just fine on his computer
system. I think something has changed on my software, but
I haven't installed anything other than the Microsoft
updates and Mcafee updates. I uninstalled it and
reinstalled the printer software, downloaded the latest
drivers and installed then and still won't print anything
in color. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

It's a Lexmark.

Disconnect the printer from the PC.

Follow Bruce Sanderson's instructions to do a COMPLETE uninstall. Pay
particular attention to his special section on Lexmark printers.

After you've cleaned everything, download a new set of drivers from the
Lexmark website at www.lexmark.com

Install the software BEFORE connecting the printer to the PC... the software
will TELL you when to connect.
