Lexmark print server

I had a Lexmark printer successfully installed. Unplugged
it and replaced with HP deskjet. After that, I could not
go anywhere near the printers folder without getting an
error message. I have since learned about the problems
with Lexmark and XP and the LexBce server service. I have
followed all cleanup instructions found here and on MS
knowledgebase. I removed the LexBce service dependency
from the print spooler service. I can now start and stop
the print spooler service without getting an error
message, but if I try to install the new HP, after copying
all files, I get a Spooler SubSytem App error message and
the spooler service stops itself.

Could the spooler service itself be corrupted?
