Lexark Printers not working

I have upgraded from Window ME to XP and now I can't get
either of my Lexmark printers to work (Z52 Color & Optra
E310 Laser). I have tried numerous drivers and cannot get
them to work.

First of all if you kept your printers connected during the upgrade you
probably have corrupted drivers. See:

I will give it a try. Also, will having the printers on
an A/B box be an issue with XP?

It won't like it much. Can you not put one on LPT and one on USB ports?

I have tried everything!!! I can't get either printer to
work. This is ridiculous.

This can be an issue depending on the type of switch. The parallel port in
XP is designed around the Windows 2000/ Windows NT code base. The polling
method on the port is completely different.

You will need to configure the BIOS on the computer to place the parallel
port in a configuration that will make the switch transparent Try AT mode.
If it is in ECP mode I am pretty sure it will not work with a switch.
