Level 2 cache registry settings

I read somewhere that XP doesn't identify the correct
Level 2 cache value and that you can edit it correctly in
the registry.

Also, I wasn't sure if it applied to the newer P4 cpu's
or not.

Any ideas or help on how or why to do this?
 
HKLM/system/currentcontrolset/control/sessionmanager/memory
mangement/ "Secondleveldatacache" It should be 256 or
512 depending on what you have.
 
Interesting.

Is that in the DWord Value or Binary Value? Mine reads "0" in DWord and 0000
00 00 00 00 . . . . (spaces could be off as
copy/paste does not work) in the Binary Value

Those are values to allow you to restrict usage for troubleshooting
purposes. It should *normally* be zero - use whatever is reported by
BIOS
