Lengthy Virus Scan

Hello,

Suddenly, my Word 2002 is doing a lengthy virus scan before opening any file
on my local drive - this wasn't happening before. Would appreciate any help
on how to disable or correct this.

Don't know if this is related but ...

Suddenly, right clicking on a file or folder in windows explorer has become
extremely slow. I watch an hourglass for up to 30 seconds before the popup
menu appears.

The only changes I made recently was to install the IIS Server and
Dreamweaver.

Disable the Norton Office Plug-in in NAV. This is a good idea in general but
especially necessary if you have downloaded the latest NAV update, which
evidently has a bug in it.

The Verisign certificate for NAV has run out of date. Norton have been
caught with their pants down! Follow Suzanne's advice and disable the Office
Plug-in.

Thanks Susan,

I did disable the Office Plug-in but it didn't seem to help. Maybe I need
to reboot or just completely diasable NAV until they fix the bug?

Did you do this with Office closed? If not, reboot and try again. Or have
you had the Corporate Edition installed at any time?
