Left speaker not working on Laptop

I have a compaq presario V2000, its only a couple of months old and now the
left speaker wont work. I have checked allllllll settings and everything
seems fine... Im sure its not broken.. Can some1 help.. Does this need
service?

Plug in headphones... Do you get audio in the left ear?
