Left click won't download files or activate shortcuts

Peter

I recently had the bridge.dll and a.exe virus.
Cleaned these out, used Norton, Ad-aware, spybot to clean
everything up.
Now my left mouse button won't download some files, or
activate shortcuts. The image of the button will depress
as expected, or the hyperlink will change colour etc. but
after clicking, nothing happens, usually a save to
dialogue box should appear. I can right click and do save
target as, but if it is a button, I usually cant. Can't
do a system resore, it just says it cannot be restored.

It's driving me mad, can't access so many files.
Really appreciate some advice.

Thanks,
Peter.

Found the culprit!!!!!!!!!
Winget1.6 was trying to manage the download, but it fails
to auto detect that I am trying to download a file.
IExplorer has given control to Winget (this was a
selectable option in Winget.) Seems Winget just won't
kick in to download. I have to manually copy the url in.
Then it's fine for all downloads during my browsing
session.
Think Winget is corrupt. Going to try another version.
Similar probz of this nature may be due to other 3rd
party downloaders..Hope this helps.
PETER.
