Learning Linux?

I'm thinking of buying a Raspberry Pi5 pc kit and learning Linux? Is it worth it to do and have others built/used a pi?
 
Personally, I don't have one but I do know a couple of people who enjoyed getting them going. However, in both cases, after a couple of weeks they were never used again because of their limitations.

And, of course, you can learn to use Linux on any other computer.
