LCD problem

John Grady

Hello,

I am new to this group.

I have a built Intel D865GBFL, which I used the onboard graphics to hook up
my new ADVUEU 17" LCD.

When I hooked everything up, it showed up fine. After testing for about 10
minutes, I finally decided to shut down and the amber color showed on the
LCD.

I got a hunch to start the machine up again and then my problem started. It
gave me the error message that there is no connection or input signal and it
powered down with the amber light on. I then firmly tightened up the
connections and tried again, same result happened.

So I took my older computer and fired it up with the new LCD. It worked just
fine. I tried the older monitor which had worked before on the new machine
and the same result happen -- it came on with a green light then only to
turn into an amber light and power down.

I am lost as to what to do. I have isolated the problem with the computer
since the LCD works fine on the older computer.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Sounds like you've got your system set to use a resolution that your LCD
won't support. Boot into safe mode and change it.

Install a good AGP video card. Apparently the onboard
video chip is too weak to support the LCD monitor.

Example:

ASUS nVIDIA GeForce FX5200 Video Card, 128MB DDR, 128-bit, DVI/TV-Out,
8X AGP, Model "V9520/TD"
