layered service provider

can anyone give me some information regarding this
subject? It has appeared on my machine and I was informed
by Microsoft.

If you got a prompt that a Layered Service Provider was being added to your
machine--were you in the process of installing some software?

You can browse the list of LSP's using Microsoft Antispyware's tools,
advanced tools, system explorers.

An unknown or unexpected LSP would be a bad thing, but one which is added in
the course of installing legitimate software is probably expected.
