# Latest signatures over 45 days old?

[Confused]

I noticed that the apparent current signatures are dated
January 30,2005. Is this actually the case? I downloaded
the application again from MS web site to ensure that I was
using the current version of the app and did a check for
updates. There was not change

The definition files in the download should be February 16th or
so--something is wrong.

Please try simply deleting the two files involved in the definitions, as
defined in this KB article:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;892519

and tell us what version you end up with, and whether that can be updated to
current which are 5705

Well, since I was writing on April 14th, no.

Additionally, although there was a period of time when they updated the
definitions in the download periodically, it isn't clear that this has
happened since the February 16th release:

Note: This download has been updated to include signature version 5687,
which is the most current as of February 10, 2005. Customers who have
installed Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware prior to this date do not need to
re-download. They will receive signature updates as part of their next
automatic or manual signature update.
