Laser printer toner

Anybody here know if there is a significant difference between different
toners for laser printers or copiers. I have been refilling cartridges
using bulk toner for a HP2100 printer and a cannon copier. I bought
toner for each unit. The toners APPEAR to be identical. What would
happen if you used the printer toner on the copier and/or the copier
toner in the printer? Any ideas?

There is a huge difference in different toner formulations. Some respond to
a positive charge, others to negative. I'd guess there are quite a few other
differences as well, but one is enough. Unless you have the technical specs
for each toner to prove they are identical you run a very high risk of
ruining each toner cartridge. Been there, done that. No damage to either the
printer or my copy machine, but the cartridges were no longer fit for use
without a total tear down and cleaning.
