Large icons on Desktop

Clear DayI like to use the 800X600 resolution, but the icons on my desktop are very large. I have a lot of them. Is it possible to still keep the same resolution but make the icons on the desktop smaller?

Thanks..

Right-click an empty area on the desktop,
select PROPERTIES,
hit the APPEARANCE tab,
select the EFFECTS button,
if the "use large icons" box is checked, uncheck it.

If it is unchecked already then on the APPEARANCE tab
select the ADVANCED button instead of the EFFECTS button.
Hit the drop-down box under ITEM and select ICON. You can
then resize the icons to your liking.
Hope this helps.

Thanks so much. That did the trick. Now...another question... Can I make
the taskbar smaller? It's really big now. liked the size it was
previously.

First make sure the task bar is not locked. Right-click
an empty area of the task bar and make sure there isn't a
check mark next to "Lock the task bar", if there is then
just click on it and the check mark will go away.
Next, move your mouse pointer to the uppermost part of
the task bar until it turns into a double headed arrow,
then press and hold down the left mouse button and you
will be able to drag the task bar either up or down to
make it smaller or larger.

Adjust the DPI settings. That will solve the problem =
