Since your car can easily provide DC, and your laptop more than likely
has a DC in, the electric part of the adapter should should be easy.
The mechanical part, though, might more difficult as different
manufacturers have used different types of plugs. I would first contact
your manufacturer about obtaining the cable to go from your cigarette
lighter to your laptop--it might be reasonable enough to purchase.
Easiest is to buy a DC-AC invertor, about 200W is better
than trying to cut corners and go with one smaller.
Better than the inverter is to buy a laptop supply meant to
run from a car lighter socket and use that instead of your
original laptop brick supply. It's also more efficient
than converting to HV AC and back again to LV DC.
