My wife uses a laptop at work and home, naturally the lan network at each is
configured differently so I have configured different hardware profiles to
control the use of the network card and settings at each location but I have
a problem.
The work location uses a proxy server to gain access to the internet but at
home the internet connection is throuch a router. At the current time this
requires my wife to check or uncheck the 'use proxy server option' in the lan
connection box of internet explorer, but this seems a slow and inefficient
way to overcome the problem.
Equally it would be nice for the default printer to change depending upon
the location.
So whilst the hardware profile works it does not achieve what I really want.
Please can someone guide me as to what I am missing or where I am going wrong.
The only other option I do have is a 'usb ethernet adaptor' which can be
used. Would this perhaps invoke a different set of rules for internet
explorer and default printer?
Any advice would be greatfully appreciated.
Thanks
