Laptop slows every Friday

I run xp Home and the cpu usage hits 100% every Friday
until Saturday afternoon, when it returns to normal. I
have no schedued tasks and run Norton Securities. Any
ideas?

When you see this happening, bring up Task Manager and look at what
processes and programs are running. You say you have Norton
"Securities"; does that mean you have a current version of Norton
Antivirus and are its definitions kept updated? We'll need more
information than what you provided in your first post to help. In the
