Laptop freezes on shutting down

I have just had XP put on an N200 Evo notebook (Compaq). When I close
down, the arrow freezes on the screen. Takes a while to hold the key down
to make it shut.

Any clues please?

It appears that one of your drivers is not compatable
with the OS. Run Windows update to see if Microsoft has
any updated drivers for your system.
