Laptop battery

The new battery in my Compaq Presaio does not charge beyond 6%. I have tried
two other baterries and they won't charge either. I have tried another new
battery and the same happens. Any ideas?

Is the battery charger internal or external? If it is external, on the AC
cable,
you'll probably need to replace it for it could be defective. If the
charger is
internal, within your laptop, you'll need to have that replaced.
