Hello All,

I am using DELL Latitude C640 with Windows XP Professional
installed. There is a strange problem that I am facing.
All of sudden my laptop shuts down. I see no error on the
screen. Even when I check the event log there is no log
for any thing related to this incident. But I see that
there is a warning message in the System Log. it looks
like this " A request to suspend power was denied by
WINWORD.EXE." The Event ID is 240 and the source is win32k.
I tried searching for the event ID on Google & Microsoft
Site, but no luck.

This problem has occured for the second time and I am
unable to understand why this is happening?

Please help!! Its urgent..

Thanx in Advance..

I am getting the same error, but on a desktop machine and
it is on Windows 2000. It causes the end-user to have to
reboot. Any resolutions to this? You can also e-mail me
at (e-mail address removed)

thanks,

joe

What does a scan with a current antivirus (using updated definitions)
show? Is the machine clean?
