Swapping Hard Drives

Guest

I am trying to swap hard drives from one laptop to another. When I swap the
hardrive it will not boot in the new machine. My hope is to avoid rebuilding
the harddrive. The O/S is WinXP Pro

Old system:
dell Latitude C600
PIII 733 Mhz
256 MB memory

New System:
Dell Latitude C640
P4 2.0
512 MB memory

Are the hard drives identical? On a workstation, if the drives aren't
identical, you may need to go into the BIOS to have it re-detect the
replacement drive. This is probably the case with a laptop as well.
