It will work OK if you set it up as a dual boot. Also, since the
English Pro version is an upgrade version, you must have a qualifying
OS to show it during the install process. For example: a copy of
English Windows 98 or ME.
I don't think you can upgrade your Japanese copy of XP Home to English
XP Pro. That's why I suggest you set it up as a dual boot on the same
machine. Then you can select booting either to Japanese Home or
English Pro.
