In windows 98 I used GLOBAL IME so that I could type in
either english or japanese for my documents or email.
What download can I use with XP Home Edition???

Thanks. I went thru the procedures with no results. I
wonder if my computer has the IME installed? New from HP
with XP home edition. Looking for download that would
work with home edition.

You can not use the downloadable IME as you did before with Win98.
The full and upgrade retail CD of XP Home/Pro already have the
language IMEs included. Also many OEM versions have them too.
However, restore and recovery type CDs received with systems from
makers such as Gateway, HP, Compaq, and several others do not contain
the IMEs or other extras.

You might be able to locate a downloadable IME somewhere on the net,
but be sure it's for XP or Win2000 before you install it. Or, borrow
a retail CD from a friend and install the Japanese IME that way.
