Language bar is gone

Avetis

Dear friends,
I am using Windows XP professional.
I closed the language bar and am not able to reactivate it
again. I have tried installing additional text services. I
can switch between different input languages and keyboard
layouts, but I don't see the lenguage bar Icon either on
the Desktop or the Taskbar.
Does anybody know how can I reactivate the language bar?

Thanks,

Avetis

Avetis;

From XP HELP:

[To show the Language bar
Open Regional and Language Options in Control Panel.
On the Languages tab, under Text services and input languages, click
Details.
Under Preferences, click Language Bar.
Select the Show the Language bar on the desktop check box.
Notes
To open Regional and Language Options, click Start, point to Settings, click
Control Panel, and then double-click Regional and Language Options.
The Language bar is displayed automatically if you install a text service
such as handwriting, speech, or an Input Method Editor (IME). However, if
you close the Language bar, you can use this procedure to redisplay it.
If you minimized the Language bar to the taskbar, click the Language icon ()
on the taskbar and then click Show the Language bar.
Once the Language bar is displayed, you can right-click it to display a
menu. Use this menu to change settings for the Language bar, such as docking
it on the taskbar or adding text labels.]

Wes,

I tried wat you suggested, but this didn't solve the
problem. The "Language Bar" button under Preferences
apepears grey and no result is obtained. I also Installed
the Speach tool for english but this neither reactivated
the Language Bar.
In addition I have to say that there are two User
Accounts set on my computer and this problem happens only
with my Account. The other one works pretty good.
Any idea?

Thanks

Hi,

Two options:

Restore Language Bar - Line 194 - Right hand side

Or....

Kelly,

Tried both options. No result. The only thing that
changed is that "Language Bar" option appeared under
Taskbar|Toolbars list, but when I attempt to choose it
nothing happens (no check mark appears).
Any other option?

Thanks,
Avetis

Suggestions:
--Check Control Panel (classic view)> Internet Options> General> Languages.
Use the controls in this window to place your preferred language at the top
of the list and/or to remove unwanted languages.

--Some sites store localization info in cookies. Clear your existing
cookies so that you get new ones with the correct info the next time you
visit. Go to Internet Options> General Temporary Internet Files> Delete
Files. Elect to Delete cookies as well as clearing out the browser cache.
