LAN and ethernet

ok ive got a hub with ethernet cables connceted to my laptop and my brothers
computer.my brother can pick me up but i cant pick him up. ive been told that
i need to turn on my ethernet but dont know how to do it. can anyone help me
please.

Hi, you may need to enable your onboard network card in your BIOS. This is
about as much as I can tell you with the information you have given. How to
access the BIOS may well differ depending on the brand of laptop. Usually
the delete key as it is booting up.

ive tryed what you surggested but it says its turned on. when the cables are
connected i get a message saying that there is little or no connectivity, so
when i try to repair it i says that i cant and i need to contact my network
surver but i dont know who that is. i also checked the ip address but the
only one that hasnt been filled is the default gatway. i hope that
information is enough to help
