I use Cammy - freeware version.

But I notice this for the Pro version:
___________________________________
Functions like Cammy, but additionally:

* Image processing functions
o Brightness
o Contrast
o Sharpness
o Gamma correction
o Saturation
o Grayscale
o Negative image

These features are standard with Easyshare. Once you get rid of Backweb
(only needed for automatic updating of the program) it's really not that
bad.

The program came with my computer. Shortly after I installed it,
Spybot S&D detected Backweb on my system. When I saw that it had
been installed by Kodak, I called them on it.

Looks like they CTA within their EULA:
<quote> (clipped)

CTA = "clandestinely tell all"?

Not familiar with that acronym.

Think "CYA" with a change in the pronoun!

Egad. I'm still not getting this. "See to"?

I was thinking "CYA" as in "SEE YA", the way us bikers use it. Thanks
for playing though! 80)>

Humm - I'll stick with my Canon. I don't use their software so I
don't know if it has 'helper' applications in it. The dumb-ing down
of software has it's price: loss of control and loss of privacy. Just
my opinion, of course!

I have 3 Kodak cameras, love them, but the Easyshare Software I can do
without. I find it a pain to use and slow to start. Is there any
alternate software that can be used to quickly and simply transfer the
pictures?

After removing Backweb (easy to do with Spybot S&D), I find that the
"Enhance" feature in Easyshare make the program worth keeping around.

If you choose custom and set to not install the updater, then it
doesn't put backweb on.

Since it doesn't have or need frequent updates, I've never seen the
point of running a parasitic update service on the offchance that a
nonessential update will turn up...

PS, Thanks to whoever started this, I've updated mine - went smoothly
