Kodak Easyshare Download problem

When I try to download the folder which contains pictures
from my camera the folder window opens and then
immediatly disappears. I Sometime I get an error
message "Windows Explorer has encountered an problem and
needs to close" and sometimes not
Then sometimes I get Kodak EasyShare software has
encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the inconvenience. Plese tell Microsoft about this
problem and it asks me to send an error report. I keep
sending the error report but get nothing back on how to
cure the problem
Anyone got any ideas what may be causing the error. I've
reinstalled the Kodak software with the same result

A friend ran into a similar problem. Uninstalling and reinstalling the
software did not work.
We went to the Kodak internet site and support and camera model.
Kodak had specific instructions to uninstall (in fact we had to download a
file from there to uninstall) and then provided an updated version of
EasyShare to install and the problem was corrected.
So I would go there and see what kind of help you can get.

I've tried all you suggest including getting the latest
software on disk and reinstalling from disk. The problem
still exists

I have installed and used several newer and older versions of "Easyshare" It
does work under XP pro.
The problem is the Easyshare install, or a bad system module, perhaps loaded
during the install of another program.

This might also be a USB issue on some systems with older motherboards.
