Here is another piece of my problem the error message
Product: Kodak EasyShare software -- Error 1406.Could not
write value InstallDir to key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KO DAK\KODAK Software
Updater\KODAK_Master_Installer . System error . Verify
that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact
your support personnel.

Make sure you're logged on as administrator or with administrator
rights. The program is telling you that you do not have permission
to write to the registry.
