Kodak Camers issues

Kodak Camera...
When I connect my Kodak DC-240 camera the Scanner & Camera Wizard
no longer reads the pictures. I uninstalled the camera and rebooted
the system. Windows XP then finds new hardware and installs the
drivers.
The camera shows up in my computer but that is all. I can’t click it
or get the Scanner & Camera Wizard to load the pictures. I also did a
repair of Windows XP. What else can I try.

An inexpensive Compact Flash (as I recall) card reader - available at PC
stores.

Hi;

None of the downloads direct from camera work very well even on the
newest digital cameras. Your model is at least 3 years old and the
software was even worse then.

Suggest you get a Compact Flash Card Reader (since the DC 240 uses the
Compact Flash or CF card reader. Single card readers are widely
available on the Net for $10 or less. It is a much easier way to go.
If you plan to get another digital camera soon, you might consider a
multi-card reader such as is made by SanDisk or Lexar for about $25,

These run on USB 2.0 and XP will recognize it immediately.

Thank you for the advice. I will try the card reader and see what
happens. Although the scanner wizard seemed to perform pretty well
before. I suppose Windows is just finicky that way. Will the card
reader still use the scanner/camera wizard ?
Thanks for the responses.

Thanks for the information on RealPlayer, but I don’t use it; just
media player and Winamp. But that is good information to know.
I think I will try the card reader and see what does.
Thanks,
Chuck
