keyboard volume buttons/on-screen display

After upgrading a Compaq 7360(win 98se) to Win XP Pro and
a new mother board/video card, the on-screen display for
the speaker volume controll buttons on the keyboard don't
work. Are there any Microsoft drivers that would support
the on-screen volume display for keyboard controlls?
