keyboard not so hot

bought a new HP computer with XP installed. love the puter and it works
perfectly. the keyboard on the other hand is a loser. lousy feel when
typing, often doesn't type a capital letter when i depress the SHIFT key.
can anyone recommend a really nice keyboard that will work with my HP? i'm
not interested in the bells and whistle keys which allow for retrieving
e:mail, accessing music and the like. thanks, dan

If you bought your system locally, take the keyboard back and get a replacement.
Otherwise, returning it by mail for replacement wouldn't be worth the hassle.
Go somewhere such as Circuit City, Best Buy or one of the office supply discount
chains and find something you like the feel of. You shouldn't have to spend
more than $10 or $12.

um, yes i know how to shop and surf prices .... what i was looking for was
personal experience. as in, someone using a keyboard that they particularly
like. thanks just the same. dan

What I like, you might find uncomfortable. When shopping for a mouse or a
keyboard, I head to the store and try out the floor models. If the price is
good, I'll buy there. Otherwise, I'll write down the model info and go
online for a better deal.

The main problem I've found with ordering keyboards online is that shipping
charges are sometimes almost as much as the keyboard. I've even seen some very
low-priced keyboards with a shipping charge greater than the keyboard price.
