Keyboard intermittent

I just loaded Windows XP on my IBM 2621 Laptop. The
keyboard does not work 4 out of 5 times when the computer
is started. The mouse works OK.
Also, the computer locks up when using it on the internet
such as Microsoft Newsgroups.
 
Have you checked the IBM website for updates/drivers for your 2621?
Utilities etc that are totally proprietory to IBM machines.
